Company Handbook
The Company Handbook is an internal reference your team can open during an operational emergency. Staff see emergency contacts and scenario instructions in one place. Administrators add the phone numbers and rewrite the actions so they match how your salon actually works.
This guide is for business owners and administrators responsible for daily operations and staff safety.
What is the Company Handbook?
Section titled “What is the Company Handbook?”The Company Handbook is a staff-only page in the admin dashboard. It is not a customer knowledge base and it is not a daily checklist. Opening Flow and Closing Flow stay on their own pages. The handbook links to those pages when they are enabled.
The first section is SOS / Emergency. It lists the people staff should call and the action they should take for common operational emergencies.
Enable the Company Handbook
Section titled “Enable the Company Handbook”Organization administrators can enable or disable the Company Handbook in Settings → Daily operations. When it is disabled, the Handbook item under Daily operations is hidden. A direct link shows a disabled message, and administrators can open Settings from that page.
Enable it when you are ready to add contacts and review the default emergency scenarios.
What staff see
Section titled “What staff see”When the handbook is enabled, specialists and administrators can open Handbook from Daily operations in the admin navigation.
The SOS / Emergency section shows:
- Emergency contacts at the top, including name, optional role, notes, and a phone link.
- What to do scenarios. Each scenario expands to show the action the employee should take, plus an optional linked contact to call.
If no contacts have been added yet, staff see a message to ask an administrator to add them.
If Emergency Cancellation is also enabled, SOS includes a link to cancel upcoming bookings and notify customers.
Below SOS, a Daily operations section links to Opening and Closing when those checks are enabled for the organization.
Configure emergency contacts
Section titled “Configure emergency contacts”Administrators use the Manage tab on the Handbook page to add the people staff should call.
For each contact you can set:
- Name
- Role (optional), such as owner or technician
- Phone number
- Notes (optional), such as when to call this person
You can reorder contacts and archive ones that are no longer used. Archived contacts no longer appear to staff. Contacts are organization-wide, not per location.
Add at least one reachable contact before you ask staff to rely on the handbook.
Configure emergency scenarios
Section titled “Configure emergency scenarios”When you first enable the handbook, FullDay adds five starter scenarios:
- Machine not working
- Machine not cooling down / continuously beeping
- Machine damaged or dropped
- Electricity outage
- Building or room issues
Each starter scenario includes a short generic action. Administrators should rewrite the instructions so they match your machines, rooms, and who to call.
You can add more scenarios, change the title and instructions, optionally link a contact, reorder the list, or archive a scenario that no longer applies.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Put the first person staff should call at the top of the contact list.
- Keep each scenario to a few clear steps: stop, keep people safe, tell the person in charge, then call.
- Link a contact on a scenario when that person should be called for that specific problem.
- Review contacts whenever a phone number or on-call person changes.
- Archive outdated scenarios so staff are not reading instructions you no longer use.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”Continue setting up daily operations with these guides:
